INDEPENDENT PANEL APPOINTMENTS
I have been appointed to two Independent Panels; investigating what went wrong in the Champion's League Final in Paris in 2022 and as an expert in gendered violence and discrimination investigating Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries, and their pathways and practices in the north of Ireland.
TREATED WITH CONTEMPT
Tne Independent Panel investigated what went wrong at the 2022 UEFA Champions League Final in Paris, examining fans' experiences and the institutional responses. I designed and implemented the methodology used to analyse more than 480 fans' testimonies, providing the evidential framework for the Panel’s findings. The report subsequently informed UEFA’s independent review.
TRUTH RECOVERY PANEL INTERIM REPORT
The Truth Recovery Independent Panel – a 10-person panel of experts in their respective fields – was appointed by the Executive Office of the north of Ireland to investigate the pathways and practices of so-called Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries, and Workhouses between 1922 and 1990 in the north. This interim report was published in May 2024.
TRUTH RECOVERY PANEL INTERIM REPORT
The Independent Panel published their final report – the culmination of three years' extensive investigations – in July 2026. It made 70 recommendations: 28 to a forthcoming public inquiry, 39 to the Northern Ireland Executive and 3 to future independent panels. The report includes the largest and most comprehensive collection of lived-experience testimony in Northern Ireland in connection to these institutions.
