Research underpins everything I do. My consultancy, training and policy work are grounded in more than two decades of internationally recognised research and practice in forensic linguistics, critical discourse analysis, rhetoric, communication & persuasion, and institutional discourse. From my earliest research into language, ideology, and power to my current work with police forces, public bodies, and charities, I have been interested in how language can reinforce assumptions, shape institutional decision-making, give voice to experience — or silence it.
